What I Learned in Primary

I am a primary teacher, and I love it. I teach the 6 year olds (CTR 7) and they are awesome kids. I just wanted to share a couple of the lessons I've learned from my primary class.
One little girl has taught me the importance of sharing. Whenever I bring a treat, or there are treats in sharing time, she always asks for extra to share with her little brother and sister. I mentioned it to her mom, and she told me that even at school she will be sure to save part of her fruit snack or whatever she gets for her brother and sister. Even today when some of the other kids unwrapped their rice krispie treats (homemade, blue with sprinkles- can you believe my level of craftiness!), she put hers under her chair so she would "remember to save some." Adorable.
Another little girl is one of those that you always hope to get in your class: willing to answer the questions, smart, reverent. An all around great kid. And she always has something insightful to say. For example, today we were working on the song "I'll Seek the Lord Early", the song we are learning this month, and she whispered to me "I know where we can always find the Lord- here at church. And at the temple." Wow. She is right.
The only boy in my class has taught me the importance of sacrifice for others. His dad, apparently, is a huge fan of anything chocolate. Whenever there is anything chocolate, he saves it for his dad. Again, even when the other kids are devouring their goodies, he saves his M&Ms, candy bars, or Hershey's Kisses for his dad "because he just loves chocolate so much and it is nice to make him happy."
I just love these primary kids. They have no idea how much they teach their teacher.
