Cars? Bath?

Josh decided to give his cars a bath today. So we got out a bowl. He swirled them around until they were "all clean." Each time he noticed somebody was missing, he had to dig through his basket until he found them. ("Guido? Bath?" "Doc? Bath?")

(It took a while for them to get clean... apparently even though they have not been outside they were quite dirty.)

If Josh Ran the Zoo...

You know how people always say that as a parent, you have to pick your battles? Well, when Josh gets it into his head that he wants to wear something specific (for example, flannel Cars PJ pants, a plaid button up shirt, and his striped jacket), that is a battle better left un-fought. Steve snapped a quick picture of him while we were getting in the car. Doesn't he look dashing? In other news, we are still alive and well. I am SO thankful that we live in a house with central air for this pregnancy, because I can remember how miserable the summer we spent in Nuttall Hall was (unless you were sitting within 3 feet of the swamp cooler). Less than 7 weeks of pregnancy to go (hopefully...). I know it hasn't been too hot so far this summer, and I am way grateful for that. Of course, we still have the major spend-most-of-the-day outside holidays coming up (July 4th and 24th) so we'll see how I survive that. This pregnancy has been quite the roller coaster. After the bleeding finally stopped early in the 2nd trimester, then I had to deal with low amniotic fluid levels. But everything is finally looking good (knock on wood). I get to have more ultrasounds to monitor my fluid levels, and let me just say that the dimly lit ultrasound room, with someone massaging jelly on your belly, gets more relaxing every time. I'm afraid I'm going to doze off next time.
Steve is busy with his classes. One of his classes was going to be essentially a repeat of an undergraduate course he took in Logan, so his teacher told him if he would rather not come to class for 4 hours every day for 2 weeks, he could just write a 12 page paper about how he has applied the strategies they talk about in class to his teaching. Of course, being an English teacher, this was a VERY desirable alternative for Steve. He knocked the paper out in a weekend, and now he has 6 of his 12 summer credits under his belt.

We Love to See the Temple

We got a BEAUTIFUL picture of the Manti Temple to hang above our stairs. We have wanted something there for a long time, and lucky for us a couple of local stay-at-home moms decided to start a business offering these pics at a great price.

Visit their website at http://vintagetemplephotos.blogspot.com. They have pictures of every temple in Utah, even though some of them aren't up on the website. Contact them for pricing and size options. They can even personalize them (Ours says Weller, May 21 2005) or include Families are Forever or Holiness to the Lord.
Josh refers to the Manti Temple as his temple (Josh's temple) or as Jesus' house. He has also started singing "I Love to See the Temple" with us. I'm trying to get it on video...

Stwaw-be-eeze (Strawberries)

Josh loves strawberries. I mean really REALLY loves them. And he is so cute when he asks for them that it is hard to ever say No. Besides, there are worse things he could be eating, right?
He has yet to learn the concept of small bites when eating a strawberry. Hence the strawberry-bulging-out-of-the-mouth-juice-dribbling-down-the-chin pictures.
And here is a video of him enjoying his strawberry- basically all he needs me around for is to open the fridge door. He even pulls the leaves off himself because I'm always telling him not to eat the green part. At the end he says "Good Strawberry".

Progress on Abby's Room

Here are a few more pictures of the progress in Abby's room... we were so glad to finally cover up that lovely pink wall!
We have since painted the wainscoting and put the outlet covers back on... it looks SO cute. A BIG thanks to Steve for doing 99.9% of the actual work. :)

Big Tractor

Yesterday while Josh was playing at the park, the girl who was babysitting him took him over for an up-close and personal view of a tractor. He was so excited!

Nursery- In progress

I just finished telling Steve that we should wait to post these pictures until we are all done with everything in the soon-to-be nursery, but I decided I don't want to wait.
Step 1- paint top half of the wall with light lavender. (Since we are putting up wainscoting on the bottom half of the wall)
Step 2- Tape the stripes for the darker color. (Hint- if you want it really straight, it is going to take a while) Step 3- Paint the darker stripes- looks so cute! Now we just have to finish the rest of the stripes and put up the wainscoting. So stay tuned!
