Abigail Jane

Abby is getting so big. She is such a cutie. Just feast your eyes on her cuteness. Go ahead.
(The first 2 are from a few months ago, but I just found them on the camera and loved them.)

Easter 2011- New and Improved

"With Easter being so late this year, the weather should be great!" Yeah, we heard that statement too. But it wasn't. The city egg hunt was rained out, so Josh and Steve grabbed a quick picture with the Easter Bunny and hurried home.

(Not sure what I think about that Easter Bunny... his face just looks... scary.)

So we had a quick egg hunt at home in between rain showers.

Steve and I participated in the musical numbers in church on Easter Sunday. When Steve went up on the stand to sing with the men in the choir, Josh had to join him. As Steve was singing the song, Josh started singing (very quietly) "Happy Birthday to me!" (His birthday was the day before Easter this year.) What a fun Easter weekend, regardless of the weather.

And... here is a pic of the kids on Easter Sunday. We were lame and didn't get new outfits, but at least we took a picture, right?

And here is one of me and Abby- she loved that necklace to pieces. Literally. She yanked it right off my neck during church.

Biggest Girl

She is catching on to the "biggest girl" thing. Josh loved it too (see past post).

Happy Birthday to Me!

I can't believe Josh is three. When did that happen? We started the day with chicken nuggets for breakfast- it was his birthday, I decided to indulge him.

Then we brought out his present- a Lightning McQueen "big boy" bike.

He had to check it out thoroughly.
He couldn't get dressed fast enough- he was so excited to try it out. Of course, the crazy Utah weather meant rain/snow (what would you expect in late April). There was a break in the rain long enough to go around the block. After one lap, he had the pedaling figured out.

And now he's a pro. There was something bittersweet about watching him cruise around the block on his bike. He is such a big boy now! No more baby.

We went to McDonalds for lunch, and he sang "Happy Birthday to Me" the whole time we were there. Of course, he wanted to get back home in a hurry to ride his big boy bike again.
And, just as a funny footnote, he got one of those pool toy noodle thingies from my sister. When we got home, we told him it was to take to the swimming pool. But he insists it is a funnel just like Thomas, Percy, and James. Guess we really need to get to the pool more. :)

It was Too Wet to Play...

Today was a stormy, rainy, windy day. As a result, we could not play outside. So Josh got out all his cars. He loves to line them up and just look at them all.

Of course, Abby wouldn't stand for a nice, orderly line of cars. So she wanted to play too. Then Josh lined the cars up again, and Abby attacked. It was a very humorous cycle.

Here's hoping for some sunshine so we can play outside tomorrow. Or I just may need the Cat in the Hat to help keep the peace between these two!

Thomas and His Friends

Josh is officially a Thomas the Train addict. He loves the show (hooray for Netflix Instant Play), and he loves the toys. He just got his fourth Thomas toy for his birthday, and as soon as we got home, he rounded them all up for a photo. He has a Thomas Pez dispenser, a Thomas bath toy, a battery-operated Thomas, and now one of the little Thomas trains that has magnets to be "coupled up" to a freight car. He put them all in a line and sat by them and said "Look mom! I have four Thomases!" After the picture he divided them into 2 groups Thomases that can't chuff (that means the wheels don't move), and Thomases that can chuff. He cracks me up.

The Danger Zone

Since Abby is an expert crawler, we had to rig the top of the stairs so a baby gate would fit. A few 2x4s and screws later, the stairs are finally baby proof. However for some reason the gate is an Abby-magnet. Now that she is standing, she loves the gate for making standing up so easy- with all those places to hold on. Whenever she is on the floor, she makes a beeline for what we like to call the "Danger Zone" because while the gate is perfectly secure, every time she stands there I can't help but panic that the gate is going to break and she will tumble right down the stairs.

Yup- my little girl isn't even one and already she is pushing boundaries!

Girls Night In

Last night Abby and I had a girls night in while Steve and Josh went swimming. I decided to paint her toenails, which was more of an adventure than I had anticipated. It isn't the neatest pedicure job, but it is so cute. When Josh came home he was surprised that Abby had red toes! (Since Mommy's chubby feet just aren't as cute to take pictures of, I'll spare you all. :) )

Spring has Sprung

Spring has sprung here in Ephraim (sort of). Of course, since this is Utah, there still aren't two days in a row when we can enjoy a full day of sunshine. But we make the most of what we get.Josh spends all his time outside riding his tricycle up and down the sidewalk. He is getting to be such a big boy. He loves to play in the sunshine. But he never holds still for pictures.
Also please note the green-ness of our grass. Steve is quite proud. We haven't had to water it yet and it is already that green.
