So, I got to spend my day off in Gunnison today, along with every other teacher in the district attending a classroom management conference by a speaker from California. Woo-hoo. I got some great tips from it, and hopefully I can implement those into my own classroom.
But the big news is that Josh is the stair-master! We don't have any stairs in our apartment, but there are some in the dorm going up to the girls' level and down to the boys' floor. We've never really tested his stair ability until today, and sure enough, he went right up them! Wow! He's a climber! He climbs! He climbed on his first try!
We also borrowed a toy from Kristen's sister, Lisa, that he can stand up and walk behind. We tried sending him down the hall with it, and he took a few steps behind it before he sat down and crawled back to Kristen. We'll work on it.

Wow. I can't believe you sat in a meeting today! I would boycott. Hey, if you're ever feelin' the need to move to the SG, there's a new Performing Arts charter school going in next year and they're looking for teachers (I've signed up to be one).
@Steve--
Don't you worry...The movie stays pretty close to the book. It's absolutely hilarious to see them all so young though! I mean really, they all had/have fairly successful adult careers EXCEPT C. Thomas Howell who plays Ponyboy.
So this comment has nothing to do with stairmasters or district meetings, but it is in response to the comment Steve left on my blog. Excellent recommendations! We actually just read the Giver in book club in January, and I'm reviewing Stargirl for book club in March because I love it so much! How fun! I love it when my friends love the same books I love (and appreciate how good books can be even if they are written for an audience 10 (or even 20) years younger than us.) Who cares? I haven't read the Outsiders, but I'll put it on my list. Thanks for the idea!
That's fun that he's doing stairs so easily- but the hard part is going DOWN- scary! Anyway, congrats to Josh!
Steve! He's so stinking cute, I love the crawling up the stairs phase! Watch out for the falling down the stairs phase!
awww .. so awesome watch out he is gonna be running before you all know it :)
