Josh started "real" preschool this past week. I say "real" because last year we did kind of a Joy School set up where each mom takes a week to teach and the kids go to several different houses... This year he is in Miss Heidi's Preschool and he has been excited for about a month.
Conveniently, Miss Heidi lives just across the street, so getting Josh to school is a breeze. The first day I told him we would walk with him to school and he told me, "Mom- I can just go to the sidewalk and look right and left for cars and then carefully cross the street and go to school all by myself!" Since it was the first day, I told him I wanted to walk with him anyway. He ran ahead of me, and when I caught up with him, he was already getting ready to sit down and practice writing his name. I barely snapped this picture as a record of the day.
The next school day, he informed me that he was walking by himself but I could stand on the grass and watch him. He loves school so far, and I am loving 4 hours a week with just Abby (for a while longer at least).
