It Begins.
I did it. I had to wear a jacket, but I did it. I barbecued hamburgers tonight outside. I have officially opened the 2009 outdoor barbecue season, and let the festivities begin. Let me smell that charcoal grill, the sweet scent of the delicious sauces and spices, and the oh-so-heavenly aroma of burgers, dogs, chickens, and steaks. I've been staring longingly at the grill that has been packed away all winter, and I decided that tonight was the night. So, all you grill-enthusiasts, sharpen your forks, polish your spatulas, stock up on the sauces, and let's break out the grills! (Heavenly voices sing) It's Grill Season!

Pay it Forward
Here's how it works! I'm having a GIVEAWAY! You have a chance to receive a gift from me at some point in time during the next year. What it will be and when it will arrive is a complete surprise (how fun is that??)! If you'd like to be a part of this awesome idea, you need to leave a comment ON THIS POST no later than Friday, February 27, 2009. If you've never commented on my blog before, don't feel sheepish--this is a fabulous time to comment! I will draw five names randomly from the comments left to see who will receive the gifts. My "Pay It Forward" winners will be posted on my blog as well as notified via e-mail, word-of-mouth, blog comment, text message--whatever works best for me at the time! Here's the catch: if you choose to participate, you need to post some sort of "Pay It Forward" idea on your blog as well. If you don't have a blog, this can easily be done on Facebook, MySpace, etc. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant; just a simple gift from the heart (it can be purchased, homemade, a simple act of kind service...ANYTHING!).

You decide.
We thought it would be fun to do a side-by-side of Kristen and Josh, and Steve and Josh, so you can decide who he looks more like.

Roomies with Babies
So while attending Snow College, I had some awesome roommates. My second year, I roomed with 2 other girls in LD Singers (the choir I was in...) All three of us are married now, and we all have little boys. Here is a picture from back in August when we were finally able to all get together:

Now, these other two roommates have taken it upon themselves to have another child each. Don't worry- I feel no pressure- they live too far away! I just thought it would be fun to share that picture.

This is Josh... Please Hold.
Josh loves phones, as most babies do. Tonight he was particularly funny as he had both phones. (Ignore the trash in the background...)
It is hard work managing so many adoring fans.
This is one of the first times he has done the phone-to-the-ear thing:
Funny Josh. If we can ever get him to hold still for a close up picture, I'll show you his top teeth. He has 7 now- and they make him look so grown up!Wednesday, February 4, 2009
Run, don't walk from The Josh!
Josh likes to make messes. We have a shelf of church books that we know is within his reach, but there just really isn't anywhere else to put them. He likes to sit in piles of said church books and marinate in gospel teachings.

As a reminder for me to get a pile of papers organized that has been sitting on top of one of our little plastic drawer units (you know- those ones on wheels that are kind of see-through...):
When he noticed me taking the above picture, he hurried over and tried for a cover-up. (Actually, he is just obsessed with the camera- but it sure looks suspicious!)

Effects of 100% Home Teaching
I got new home teaching families about 6 months ago, and when I was assigned, I made it a goal to get 100% home teaching every month. Well, so far we have. This is the first time I've been able to do that.
After church today, while we were getting ready to go home, the little boy of one of my families saw me, looked up at his mom and said. "Is that Brother Weller?" to which she replied in the affirmative. Then he piped up "It's a church day. Is he going to come over? Because he should come over on church days."
Cute. That's what you get for 100%.
